Today we revisited Buffone garden 1 and while there we decomposed brown paper napkins, we looked at the decomposing food in the blue bin and we also looked at the pile of decomposing plants. To decompose the brown napkins we put leaves on the bottom of the bin and then placed the napkins on top of them and picked out anything that was not a brown napkin and moved it around so that the napkins could get more air so that they could decompose faster. The blue bin was still pretty moist and the leaved helped only a little in the decomposing. The pile of decomposing plants was still supporting the lives of the worms and was making slow but steady progress in decomposing the plants. Worms are especially productive in the area of cultivated soil. Worms like to live near there food because they can be protective and its not hot or cold or dry or wet. Worms have been around for about 120 million years.
